Mission style is a design the emphasizes simple horizontal and vertical lines and flat panels that accentuate the grain of the wood. In addition, our mission style doors can also feature stained glass designs inspired from traditional craftsman designs. Entry doors of a Craftsman home follow the Arts and Crafts ideal of artisan-crafted designs that complement both cottage homes and bungalows. Craftsman doors typically have glass panes in the upper third of the door separated from the lower flat wood panels by a thick piece of trim or molding.
Wood panels are simple but may be grooved. For that true craftsman look and architectural style, add a dentil shelf to your exterior door for that extra bit of curb appeal. The dentil shelf is installed just under the top panel or glass of the door and meant to add character.
